Tan-y-Mynydd Trout Fishery sits in the countryside of North Wales.
For more than 26 years, we have managed and worked on this water — watching how trout respond to changing conditions, fly patterns, and materials.
Seasons change. Light changes. Insects change.
Fish behaviour changes with them.
Spending this amount of time on the water teaches you something important: small details matter.
The materials used to tie a fly influence how it sits, moves, and behaves beneath the surface. Some combinations work consistently. Others don’t.
Many of the materials stocked by FlyRebel have been chosen with this experience in mind.
Not because they are fashionable.
Not because they are widely available.
But because they have proven themselves where it matters most — on the water.
Tan-y-Mynydd continues to shape how we think about fly design, materials, and observation.
Because at FlyRebel, nothing is accidental.
